Job Description :

Provide Petroleum Chemistry consultancy services to the Asab team, in the areas of Reservoir development, Petroleum Engineering, Flow assurance, Production and Drilling Chemistry issues.

QUALIFICATIONS BSc degree or equivalent in Chemical Technology or Chemistry. At least 15 years experience in Petroleum/ Production Chemistry related to oil or gas operations. Preferably having knowledge and experience of organic and inorganic scale issues. Excellent communication skills and technical report writing skills.

THE ROLE

Provide high quality technical advice and solutions on all Petroleum Chemistry issues as part of the integrated Asab asset and/ or ad hoc project teams.

Initiate, plan and execute studies and operations support in all aspects of Petroleum Chemistry and flow assurance (e.g. scale, wax, asphaltenes, chemical inhibition, phase separation, water treatment, tracer injection etc.)

Provide Petroleum Chemistry input to Field Development Plans

Liaise with my Client's laboratories and external consultants/ laboratories on planning and interpretation of sampling and analysis exercises related to Petroleum Chemistry studies.

Provide high quality technical advice on stimulation recipes and well bore cleaning treatments

Liaise with Drilling and Cement T/L in the Drilling Department on specific Petroleum Chemistry issues related to drilling mud, completion brines and cement for the Asab field.

Attend field trials by Field Operations in Asab whenever on site specialist advice is needed

Maintain contacts with chemical vendors on technical issues related to chemical treatments in Asab.

Prepare reports and papers of work carried out and circulate to interested parties.

Provide technical coaching to less experienced team members and provide training and development to UAE national employees.

Mainly office based work with occasional field trips to attend field operations or visit Asab field and Mussafa mud/ cement laboratories for approximately 15% of the working time
